About

Dr Joseph Wessels is a dedicated orthopaedic surgeon serving Durban and surrounds with compassion and expertise. He earned his medical degree with distinction from the University of the Free State and completed his internship at Ngwelezana Hospital, where he was named Best Surgical Intern. Dr Wessels specialised in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Witwatersrand, receiving the Synthes Orthopaedic Prize and the Dominique Masiala Prize for his outstanding achievements. Further honing his skills, he completed fellowships in upper limb surgery and orthopaedic trauma in Hamilton, New Zealand. Dr Wessels is dedicated to personalised care, helping patients achieve mobility and renewed vitality.
