FELLOWSHIP TRAINED ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON

Dr Matthew Foster, also known as Dr Matt, is a specialised orthopaedic surgeon from Durban. He obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the University of Cape Town before returning to Durban to complete his internship at Addington Hospital. Later, he transitioned to Richards Bay for his orthopaedic training at Ngwelezane Hospital, subsequently relocating to Johannesburg. Dr Foster successfully completed his Orthopaedic training at the University of Witwatersrand, training at both Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. Notably, at completion of his training, his surgical expertise were acknowledged by his peers awarding him as the surgeon with the best surgical skills.

Dr Foster has a passion for orthopaedic surgery with a special interest in knees. He did a knee fellowship in Johannesburg at the Rosebank Clinic with Dr Glen Vardi where he advanced his skills specifically in knee surgery which encompassed all the latest techniques and technologies surrounding knee pathologies. He then returned to Durban to join his father-in-law, renowned senior Orthopaedic Specialist, Dr Jaybalan Naidoo in private practice.
